Rick Lacey Biography

Rick Lacey is widely acknowledged as the North West's finest Blues drummer.

He has played with Robert Lucas (Canned Heat) and Joanna Connor (from Chicago, USA). Childhood dreams were realised when he played with Paper Lace, Lieutenant Pigeon and The Glitter Band.

Rick has played samba in Portugal, rock & roll in Spain, blues in France, Denmark and Sweden and was able to have a dream come true when he played the blues in Chicago at some of the world's finest blues clubs, including Kingston Mines.

Keeping himself busy, Rick plays with Doctor Truth and Dance Attack as well as his own blues band; he is also in great demand as a session musician. He works with the UK's best-known Tina Turner tribute, Kinisha Morgan-Williams, and has played at some of the biggest tribute festivals including Glastonbudget and Faux Fest.

Rick has co – presented the Lancashire Blue Notes show on BBC Radio Lancashire and also worked for Blues Matters where he interviewed such people as Bonnie Raitt and John Mayall.
